Jeffrey Alexander Qualls, 34, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 11, 2009, at his home in Richardson, Texas. He was born September 4, 1974, in Denton, Texas. He graduated in 1993 from El Centro in Dallas. He served his country in the US Air Force in Japan and England. Before returning to school, he was employed at 7Up/DrPepper; then, as a software developer, survived several years of employment with the old CompUSA. He was a Dean’s List honors student at Richland Community College, and was currently a creative writing major at the University of Texas at Dallas. He was a multiply published poet of recognized talent and potential.

He is survived by his life partner, Ed Qualls of Richardson, his mother, Martha Puckett of Dallas; grandparents, Bobbie (Granny) and J.C. Lowry of Corinth, Texas; two aunts, Janice Glass and Karen Wilson; three cousins, Joseph Wilson, and Bob and Brian Lucas; and by his close, long-time friend, Melissa Starnes. He will be terribly missed by his family and many friends.

Memorial Service will be 7:30 PM, Sunday, July 19, 2009, at the Community Unitarian Universalist Church of Plano, 2875 E. Parker Road, Plano, Texas (www.communityuuchurch.org).
